Beyond Van Gogh Experience

Wow, what an inspiring and immersive experience!

Twenty-six of my IB Grade 11 students, along with Mrs. Marilyn Curry and I, visited this incredible 360-degree art exhibition on Thursday at the Exhibition Center in Halifax. By using a cutting-edge projection technology and an original music score, over 300 of Van Gogh's artworks were displayed. The projections were at a very high resolution which allowed us to see the wonderful texture and intense colour of the paintings.

We walked away from this show inspired and more knowledgeable about Van Gogh's passion for painting and nature. He lived to paint. The students loved this new way of experiencing and viewing the artwork, and a few mentioned that they felt part of the painting experience, especially with the movement of the images. It is truly a magical journey.

This exhibition is " highly recommended" by the Art Department! Click here for a sneak peak.

I'd like to walk with you there to find out whether we look at things the same way."
