Grade 12 and Alumni Dinner

After taking a two-year hiatus (and I am pretty sure you all know why!), the KES Advancement and Alumni Department was so excited to host the Grade 12 and alumni dinner last Friday night prior to our cadet ball. It was exhilarating to see our soon-to-be graduates hobnobbing with the alumni who were able to attend join the Grade 12 students for dinner.

Our students looked particularly spiffy in their formal wear and perhaps even looked shinier once they donned their KES alumni pins that were presented in a touching pinning ceremony, officiated by alumnus Daniel Roukema ‘92. Daniel, a KES board governor, spoke to the Grade 12 class and, in an unexpected twist, did not allude to their future; instead, hearkened back to what will be their yesterday emphasizing that no matter where their lives take them and no matter what they achieve, the School will always be there.
Daniel finished his address with, “Graduates, your parents sent you here to ‘be more.’ Mission accomplished. You are. Don’t ever forget your yesterday. This is where you came from. Congratulations and God speed.”  Wow, if ever a “mic drop” was warranted…

A huge shout-out to all of those who made this event possible, from Clara Cisneros’ camera work to Sofia Ning’s ‘25 piano playing, to Twila MacDonald and her team’s delicious dinner, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect night!
