Our Mask Days Immortalized!

Traditionally, after the Grade 12 visual arts students finish their school year, they take on a project to add a colourful, artistic project to the beautification of our School. A few of the past projects include: a reproduction of a “Group of Seven” painting as a mural in the Senior School, a tile mural influenced by the artist Keith Haring, a painting installed by Mr. Kennedy’s classroom which was inspired by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, and the colourful murals influenced by Maud Lewis on our art room exterior.

This year, with the help of the Grade 11 visual arts class, our students created a design based on what they have been experiencing with COVID-19 and the mask. They chose the style of pop art and the artist Roy Lichtenstein. The students have just started the mural, but it is already looking terrific. Stay posted for the finished masterpiece!
