A Tasty Trip to Mexico Lindo!

Last Tuesday, the Grade 12 IB Spanish group had a final activity together. Everyone was very interested in Mexican food, so we decided to have a wrap-up after two years of studying Spanish and go out for supper at “Mexico Lindo”. We enjoyed good food and spoke as much Spanish as possible. It was a fun experience!

Some waiters at the restaurant spoke Spanish, so there was no excuse not to order the food practising the vocabulary learned in class. In the end, I think everyone got what they thought they had ordered… At least, they all showed happy faces and the plates were empty after a hearty meal.

Being a small group allowed a friendly class dynamic and this permitted the students to become a single team. They worked hard and now that their exams are about to start, this activity was good hands-on practice for them. Here are some reviews from the students:

“Me gustó la experiencia del restaurante ayer. La comida estuvo muy rica. Comí tacos de cerdo y tamales. El restaurante es pequeño pero el ambiente es magnífico. Me gustaría ir al restaurante otra vez.” (I liked the experience at the restaurant, yesterday. The food was very tasty. I ate tacos with pork meat and tamales. The restaurant is small, but the ambiance is magnific. I would like to go back to this restaurant once more.)

“Mi experiencia a la restaurante era muy bien y me gustó la comida, especificamente mi postre.” (My experience at the restaurant was very good and I liked the food, specifically my dessert.)

“La experiencia fue emocionante y la comida del restaurante estuvo rica.” (The experience was exciting and the food from the restaurant was tasty.)

I wish them all the very best during their exams and in everything that follows in their life. ¡Suerte chicos!
