Josh Baker Memorial Rugby Championship Banner Winners

King’s-Edgehill School recently hosted a very competitive rugby tournament for boys and girls. The boys division was named in memory of Josh Baker ‘13, who was a member of the two-time Provincial Championship teams in 2012 and 2013. Our boys took the banner with a victory over CP Allen High School. Captains Greg Otto ‘22 and Justin Day ‘22 accepted the banner from Josh’s former teammates Christian Lakes ‘13, Devan Dube ’13 and Jacob Givner ‘14. Josh’s dad Michael spoke on behalf of the family, saying, “Josh would have been blown away and humbled by the event.” Josh is remembered as a tough, kind, and competitive athlete who was a key member of the championship teams.

One can only hope that the boys playing now continue to experience the friendships and passion that rugby provides. This year’s team seems well on their way!
