Drum Roll, please!

The entire Junior School has been waiting patiently to hear the results of our KES Science Fair held on February 17. The final tabulations were submitted by the Grade 11 IB judges and Mrs. Belliveau had the ribbons ready for presentation at our Junior School assembly this week. I was reminded of the many interesting, practical, and innovative projects that I viewed, and how much I learned from the students about chemistry, biology, psychology, zoology, environmental science, physics, microbiology, virology, computer science and health sciences to name just a few areas of exploration! 

 

Hands down, everyone was a winner in the Junior School Science Fair. From the proposal stage of the project in early September to the actual presentation to the judges, the journey allowed every student to follow their own scientific interest, become the expert in the field, and share their knowledge confidently with others. 

 

Of course, we are all grateful to Mr. Kershaw and Mrs. Belliveau for their support and guidance. The Science Fair could not have happened without them.

In addition, a group of students (chosen by the judges) will move on to the Regional AVRCE Science Fair, which will be held virtually between April 11 and 19. Project information must be submitted by April 7.
