Our Robotic Puzzle Solvers

This past Saturday, the King’s-Edgehill School junior and senior robotics teams participated in Acadia University’s regional Robofest competition. Based out of Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan, United States, Robofest is an international robotics competition that aims to both generate excitement and develop problem-solving skills in the areas of math, engineering, and computer science. This year students had to design, build, and programme an autonomous robot that would separate different size and color blocks into specific areas while simultaneously navigating around obstacles placed in various positions upon the game board. As robotics coaches it was a joy to see the many different approaches that our students took to solve the puzzle. We are extremely pleased with their hard work and what they accomplished in executing this challenge.
