Daenen (Tansley), Jean

Jean passed away on December 26, 2020.
Jean Catherine Daenen was born in Saskatoon, December 29, 1948 and died in Assiniboia, SK, December 26, 2020. Loved and missed by husband Bill, brother Doug (Anne), sister Jill (Michael), aunt Vivian (late Lorne), step-mother Viola, step-children Christine and Guillaume, nephews Wes and Matthew, niece Petra, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada and the Netherlands. Predeceased by mother Marjorie Tansley (Real) and father Donald Dougans Tansley.

Jean grew up in Regina, surviving polio and the early death of her mother as a child. These experiences shaped her life and gave her a resilient yet gentle character. As a young adult, she traveled widely within Canada and internationally. She lived and worked in Montreal and Iqaluit. In Whitehorse, she met her husband Bill and worked as a Correctional Officer. She and Bill retired to Limerick and Assiniboia, SK. Jean was an excellent cook and enjoyed the simple pleasures of gardening and reading. She was a dedicated volunteer, most recently with the Assiniboia & District Public Library.
