Kelland (Michelin), Jennifer

Jennifer passed away on December 26, 2021.
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jennifer Louise Michelin (nee: Kelland) on Sunday, December 26th, 2021 at Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL.  Left to mourn are her life partner, Dwayne Green, her mother, Louise Kelland, her brothers Jim and John Kelland, her nephew Jake (Rebecca), her “mini me” niece, Julia, her beloved dogs Rescue, Bella the Biter, and Star, and many extended family and close friends whose hearts will never be made whole again.  Jennifer was pre-deceased by her father James (Jim) Kelland.

Jennifer made her grand entrance into this world on July 11th, 1973, in Sydney, Cape Breton, to the absolute delight of her parents, Jim and Louise, who finally got the girl they always wanted.  Her proud big brothers, Jim and John, showered their beautiful baby sister with so much love and they always looked out for their beloved "Toogie."   Jennifer grew up in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, and attended King's Edgehill School in Windsor, NS, for her high school years, spent time in NS and AB following her graduation, and eventually returned to Happy Valley-Goose Bay.  Over the past ten years, Jennifer and Dwayne embarked on many adventures, including realizing her dream of creating a home in one of the former RCAF H-Buildings on the C-Side.  Their love of classic and muscle cars and, of course, Crown Vics, resulted in a collection admired by even the most seasoned enthusiasts, including the TLC Producers of “Last Stop Garage.”  For the past few years, Jennifer and Dwayne divided their time between their home in Lower Sackville, NS, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, but her happy place was Indian Cove, NL, near Mary's Harbour, where she spent months at a time with her partner, Dwayne, and her beloved dogs...a slower pace and a peaceful place to recharge.

Jennifer's light and warmth was felt by many, whether they were life long connections or a brief encounter.  Her beautiful smile, her sharp wit, and her tender heart were known to and felt by many...to know her was to never forget her.  Jennifer's beloved dog, Rescue, was never far away from his favourite human, even in recent years of failing health, and we take comfort knowing that he was reunited with her just days after her passing - as it should be.

We sincerely thank everyone who has reached out to show their love and support, and to share their memories of our beloved Jennifer - we are forever grateful for your kindness.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, and cremation has taken place.  In light of COVID concerns, there will be no public funeral service; however, memorial donations to the Happy Valley-Goose Bay SPCA may be made in Jennifer's memory.
