Prep Girls Open 2021-22 SSNS / Atlantic Exhibition Series with a Win

The Highlander Prep Girls Basketball team hosted perinnial provincial championship contender Halifax West in the first game of the 2021-22 SSNS/Atlantic Exhibition Series. Kate Jahnke and Rain Jhaj led the team to a quick start with KES establishing a 17-0 lead within the first 4 minutes of the game. All 11 players dressed for this game found the score sheet in the first half, which ended with KES leading 41-21. Halifax West made some adjustments into the third quarter, but KES Prep was too strong both skill wise and physically, and cruised to a 33 point margin, winning 87-54. Leading the Highlanders on the points category was 2022 Vanessa Vaughan, followed by fellow 2022 Brooklyn Hartley with 14. A strong game was played by 2022 Lauren Hainstock, who is continuing to play at a high level, and 2024 Abbey MacRae is showing why she will be one of the most recruited 2024's in Canada. Abbey's play is becoming more and more dominant every week, and she is causing great matchup problems for every team that lines up opposite the Prep Team.

The SSNS / Atlantic Exhibition Series is an annual part of the KES Prep Schedule, which sees the Prep team play 4 games per year versus some of the best High School teams in Nova Scotia, and expanding into Atlantic Canada.

The KES Highlanders Prep Girls Basketball are undefeated in this series since its inception in 2020.

The series continues on Friday Dec 3rd at 7pm when Citadel HS from Halifax comes to the Canavan Athletic Centre, and followed up the next day when Nova Scotia's #1 ranked team, Cobequid Educational Centre (CEC) visit KES for a much anticipated battle.
