Acadia Meet a Huge Success!

Seven KES swimmers traveled to the Acadia University pool yesterday and today to compete against 12 other teams from Yarmouth to Sydney.  Lillian Blois ‘27 and Harvey Hadley each swam five races, and both had five personal best times.  Lillian had a particularly fast 100m breaststroke race when she improved by a whopping 12 seconds.  Thirteen year-old Harvey had a podium finish in his 200m butterfly, finishing ahead of the 17 year-old in third and behind the 16 year-old gold medalist.
Rowan Francis ‘27 had a fantastic two days of swimming as he improved in four of his five races.  Rowan lopped off a gigantic 16 seconds in his 200m freestyle event, which propelled him to the highest level of Nova Scotia swimming; AAA.
Westin Endres ‘26 smashed the 30 second barrier for the first time in his 50m freestyle.  Westin improved in four of his five events, just missing a best time in his 200m breaststroke by two-tenths of a second.
Sebastian Feng ‘23 had the best meet he could given that he earned personal best times in three of his three events.  Sebastian had a particularly fast 50m freestyle, and I’m sure he is looking to drop under 30 seconds in his next race.  Swimming to a personal best in half of his events was
Stanislav Matkovskyi ‘22 Stanislav chopped off four big seconds in his 100m freestyle!
Ryan MacDougall ‘27 came within just tenths of a second of three personal bests, but was able to lower his 100m breaststroke time by well over a second.
The next meet for our AA / AAA swimmers will be at the Candy Cane meet in Truro from December 10-12.  This will be our first big meet of the season with heats and finals.  We can’t wait!
