Grade 9 Drawings - Mixed Media

The Grade 9 Visual Arts class started the new school term with an assignment of drawing the eyes, nose and mouth. They drew half of their face, experimenting with shading. The students then used different media such as watercolours, pencil and chalk on a copy of their completed drawing. The focus of this assignment was to add colour by experimenting with watercolours and the dry brush technique. Throughout the term, students will document and reflect on each of their assignments in their sketchbook.

Our class has already started their next project of researching the artist Georgia O’Keeffe and designing a close-up composition for a painting project.
