Cadet Ceremonial Honour

On Wednesday morning, the 254 went into ceremonial mode. We mounted a ceremonial quarter guard to welcome a distinguished Canadian, Senator Stan Kutcher. Senator Kutcher came to our School to address Jenna Pennington’s class. Warrant Officer Gleb Proshkyn ‘22 commanded our young cadets. The Guard, all armed with claymore swords and dressed in Highland reds, honoured the senator by giving him the full present arms. Our young bagpiper, Master Corporal Chaz Faucher ‘26 played the salute on the bagpipes, Senator Kutcher inspected the guard, took a final salute, and then departed for the classroom. Where else in Canada do teenagers develop the discipline to dress in full ceremonial garb, learn the intricacies of sword drill and pay honour to Canadian Senators? What a great day to be a cadet in the 254.
