Senior School Play - Almost Maine

Almost, Maine has been one of the top high school play productions for the past few years, and it offers a collection of short love scenes, exploring new-found love, long-lasting friendships that take an exciting leap of faith, or partnerships whose love has dissolved over time. With the world’s problems weighing heavily on our shoulders, our Senior School students present uplifting and inspiring stories that remind us of the good things in life. Even when faced with adversity, love will find a way. Almost, Maine is brought to you by enthusiastic and spirited students who are bursting with bright talent.

In preparation for the shows on April 21st and 22nd, we are excited to present two members of our gifted crew in our weekly Newsletter to give you a sneak peak of the incredible talent you can expect to see!

This is Maeve Hurley’s first time being involved in the Senior School Play, and she is excited to be involved in the stage crew this year. She decided to get involved to be “part of a team” and meet some new people.   Maeve recognizes the importance of being involved in the arts, and she states that the skills that she develops through working on this production will “help with life skills.” She is keen to help out with all aspects of the backstage crew, and she is certainly an asset to the team.  Maeve is also happy to be involved in this production with her brother, Sean, who will be on-stage.

This is Sarah Bell's third and final year here at King's-Edgehill. Before coming to King's, Sarah was solely a dancer; however, in Grade 10 she was convinced by Mr. Smith to try out for the Senior School Musical and has loved every aspect of the performing arts ever since! Performing has become an outlet for her whether it be singing, acting, or dancing. Especially during the lock down last year, singing became very vital to Sarah. She wrote many songs to help express some of the emotions she was feeling with all of the uncertainty and frustrations. Sarah was a performer in the Musical Revue earlier this year, so she wanted to take part in this play as a crew member instead. She is excited to explore this new area of the performing arts while continuing to encourage and motivate her fellow crew and cast. She is going to miss the performing arts program here at KES; however, she is excited to be ending on such a positive note.
