British Parliamentary Nationals

Thank you for supporting our provincial representatives at this past weekend's British Parliamentary Nationals.  It was not an easy tournament; Zoom protocols aside.  Each province involved sent some of their best in the senior and U15 categories, and our students toughed it out in 6 challenging rounds of BP debate.

Congratulations to Grace Gallant and Thane Morgan in Senior and Danica Scully and Vincent Armstrong in U15 for being the highest-ranked teams from Nova Scotia in the tabulation of results from across the country.

And, I am exceptionally proud of William Larder and Alex Graham for toughing it out in 6 hard rounds of debate and coming away with some sound results and being so positive about what they learned.  At the national level, this is no small accomplishment at their grade level.

As everyone now knows; we will suspend regular, on-campus meetings until further notice. However, in the interests of those students who still wish to learn debate and/or to prepare for the many online debate competitions available in the 2020 - 21 school year, we will (like we did in April to June) offer weekly debates online.

I will communicate with the students directly and schedule senior and junior debate opportunities for them.
