National Waste Reduction Week at KES

KES took part in its second annual National Waste Reduction Week from October 19 to 23. The goal was to underscore our responsibility as a school community and as individuals to think and act ‘Green’ during our everyday living. The week’s themes touched on several ways in which students can make environmentally conscious decisions while having meaningful discussions about their collective and individual impact on the environment. While this may have only been a one-week event, our hope is that students will be inspired to take it upon themselves to adopt lifelong habits that reflect the values we espouse as part of Green Schools Nova Scotia. We all need to make wise environmentally friendly choices and to bring being ‘Green’ into the mainstream.  It was an excellent week, and on behalf of the Green Team here at KES, we thank everyone for doing their part to be conscientious stewards of the environment!
