Jaelyn the Golfer

The NSSAF Golf Provincial Championships were held this past Monday at the Links at Penn Hills, a gorgeous course located alongside the Shubenacadie River. The weather was cloudy and warm. KES had one Senior girl, Grade 11 student-athlete Jaelyn Keiver, participating. Jaelyn qualified for Provincials by finishing second at the Regional Championships a week earlier.

GLEN: (All happy) “Hey Jaelyn, how did you do today????”

JAELYN: (Not quite as happy) “I did ok. It took me two shots to get out of the sand trap each time.”

GLEN: “Oh that’s ok. That happens to all of us. Did you play well?”

JAELYN: “Not really, but not bad. I had a couple of three putts.”

GLEN: “Any birdies?”

JAELYN: “I’m not sure.”

GLEN: (thinking “huh??”)

GLEN: “Ok, well, go hand in your card and we’ll get you some supper on the way home.”

JAELYN: “Ok.”
