McLaughlin, David Morley

It is with great sadness and loving memories that the family of David Morley McLaughlin announces his passing at age 70, on January 8, 2020, at the Dartmouth General Hospital.  Born in Amherst, David was the son of the late  Donald and Jean (Wilson) McLaughlin.  He was predeceased by his sister Ruth Hayden.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynn (MacDonald), sons Matthew, Halifax, Jonathan (Kathy) Dartmouth, dearest and most precious grandchildren Hudson David and Olivia Mae, sister Ann McEachern (Gordon) Bedford; and many nieces, grandnieces, nephews, grandnephews, cousins and many dear friends.  He will be missed by all and is forever in our hearts.

After retiring from a consulting engineering firm, CBCL Ltd., Halifax in 2010, where he worked for 24 years, he saw a need for photographers
in the real estate industry.  He had a real talent and passion for this work and became very successful at it.  He truly loved this work and continued for 7 years until  he had to stop due to illness in 2017.

His family would like to thank all the wonderful, caring nurses and doctors involved in his health care over the years, as there were many.  He never complained of his many health issues and always remained positive through out.  He was simply amazing, always trying to help and encourage others.

Cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16 from 7 – 9 pm, and the service celebrating his life will take place Friday, January 17 at 2:00 pmReception will follow the service.
Both events will take place in the Anglican Church of Saint Andrew, 2 Circassion Drive, Cole Harbour with Archdeacon Katherine Bourbonniere officiating.
