KES Prep takes on #1 in New England Worcester Academy

On the second day of the KES Prep Familyand friends trip, the squad had a tough schedule, starting with playing the overall #1 ranked team in New England (6 states and over 110 member schools) Worcester Academy. The top draw at WA is Aaliyah Boston, a 6'4" senior who has won awards such as 2 time McDonalds All-American, MVP of FIBA Americas U16, and recently committed to South Carolina, as part of the best recruiting class by any University in the country. The girls were anticipating a tough match up with a great team.

Briar MacDonald opened the game with a deep 3 pointer, but the KES lead was short lived as Worcester went on an 18-0 run, which showed why they are regarded as the best Prep team in New England.Claire Englehutt battled Boston in the post, and had an experience like never before, having to guard a future WNBA player. Aaliyah Arab-Smith had a 16 point day, and Briar MacDonald hit 4 shots from beyond the arc, to put 12 on the board. Worcester was too much for the short staffed KES Prep team, and crusied to a 70-39 victory on home court.

The team looks forward to a return visit to Worcester in 2020.

KES Prep Girls' close out the trip with a game vs St.Andrews on Saturday night, before the long ride home on Sunday.
