KES stays undefeated in NEPSAC Play

KES Prep Continues to Roll In NEPSAC

The KES Girls Prep team kept its undefeated record intact after surviving a 45 - 36 defensive battle with Pomfret School (Connecticut). KES raced out to a 30 - 16 lead by halftime, with some inspired defense. On the offense, Claire Englehutt established the KES inside game, and once Pomfret started to collapse to defend her, the speedy and aggressive guards opened up an up-tempo run that resulted in a 9 - 0 run to create the separation between the teams. KES came out a cold in the second half and the ball stopped dropping, as Pomfret started to chip away at the lead, at one point getting it back down to an 8 point difference before some Senior leadership from Savannah Provo and Briar MacDonald stabilized KES and the entire squad contributed to the win.

KES is now 4 - 0 in NEPSAC play and are stepping up in New England competition in every game. After defeating Pomfret, who won the NEPSAC Class B Championship in 2017-18 (With an outstanding senior class with 2 NEPSAC All Stars), KES takes on perennial New England Girls basketball power Tilton School today at 1pm (2pm Atlantic). Tilton is coming off a win over Holderness School last night, so both teams are coming into this battle off important wins and don't want their momentum to stop.
