Highlander Boys Hockey Win!

Our Highlander boys hockey team kicked off the 2022-2023 season with a 9-1 win over Kings Hockey Club last week. We were led onto the ice by our mascot, Grade 6 student, Altyn Hood ‘29, dressed as a young Dylan. We came out flying, scoring our first goal of the year less that a minute in. We didn’t stop there as we kept our foot on the gas right until the final buzzer. It was our first real noise day in almost three years, and our fellow students and staff didn’t let us down. The crowd was electric, and it gave our boys a great feeling of support. Kaden Smith ‘25 finished the game with four goals and two assists for a six-point night. Junsu Kwak ‘25 added two goals and three assists, while Mason Strong ‘25 also added two goals, and Robert McCullough-Messom ‘24 scored his first of the season.

The coaching staff was not only happy with the score, but more encouraged by the camaraderie between teammates. Everyone played for the guy next to them and they did it with a smile! We are looking forward to a great season ahead of us.

Up next: We are heading across the American boarder for the first time in the last two years. Check our website for more details.
