Varsity Ski Racers Bring Home Provincial Medals!

The season of training and racing at Ski Martock culminated with the varsity ski team on the road for provincial competition. Tuesday was a day of training to familiarize the athletes with the new environment and to train on the hill where they would be racing. Wednesday was ski provincials at Ski Wentworth.

Fresh snow the previous two days made excellent conditions to finish the year. Here are some of the highlights of the day:

To round out the female KES placings, in the very competitive junior individual girl category, Maria and Yukino MacPhee ‘27 both raced as individuals, and Yukino is very keen to move up to the intermediate category next year!

As coaches we are so proud of all the athletes! Their commitment to training this winter, their desire to learn how to ski better and faster, their support of each other, their desire and work ethic to help with course set up and clean up, and the fact that they all enjoy spending sports time together and with us every day at the hill made it a spectacular winter!

A big thank you to our Grade 12 students: Lily, Lucy, Kate, Molly, Evan, Henry, HyunSeo, and Bruce – we will miss you next year!
Also, a big thank you to Mr. Ben Marsh for chaperoning the trip to provincials and taking video, to Mr. Phillip Hadley for coaching on race day, to Mr. Kyle Endres ‘89 who was our guest coach on Mondays, and to Eric Dufour ‘18 who volunteer coached on a few Fridays.
Thanks for a great season!
