Exciting Regional Ski Race #2 and Westin Endres ‘26 at Canada Games!

The second Western Region Ski race took place on Wednesday, March 1 at Ski Martock. KES had a cohort of 22 racers! Each racer competes as an individual based on their combined times (sum of two-timed runs). Schools may also enter teams of three to five athletes in age and gender categories. The fastest three combined times from the team are added together to make the team time.

It was a beauty of a day with big snowflakes falling but no wind (race #1 was very windy) so it was such good experience to have two completely different ski conditions for each regional race.

Here are our Notable KES Results:

Well done team!  A big thank you to Mr. Phillip Hadley for running the timing gear again, and to captains Lily and Lucy for not only racing, but also coaching while we were helping to run the race. We are so proud of all of you and can’t wait to see what next week brings at Provincials!

One of our students was not able to race in regional competition this season, because he was part of the Nova Scotia Canada Winter Games team for Alpine Skiing. The team sends a big congratulations to Westin Endres ‘26. This past week he competed in super giant slalom, giant slalom, and slalom, and this weekend he will compete in ski cross.

What an opportunity! Well done, Westin and good luck this weekend!
