As everyone knows, school on campus is a bit tricky still, but we have very good news! William Larder ‘26 and Vincent Armstrong ’25 participated at another national invitational debate hosted by Lower Canada College in Montreal this past Saturday and again did very well!
The boys did four rounds of Parliamentary debate via Zoom, with two on the prepared topic of This House would prevent professional athletes from competing at the Olympics. They had very strong results in these two rounds. The afternoon rounds were impromptu topics, and they were given 20 minutes before speaking.
The boys did KES proud, with an eighth-place team finish (out of 32 teams from across Canada) and Vinny broke top five with a fourth-place individual finish (out of 64 competitors). Will landed a top half individual result as well, 21st out of 64!
Well done to both young men! Other coaches continually tell me how wonderful they are to watch and to judge.
