A Fun First Day in our Junior School

We’re off to a great start in the Junior School! The sun was shining, and the air was crisp as our new and returning students arrived early on Wednesday morning ready for the much-anticipated start to the school year. It was a true homecoming for our returning students and a warm welcoming environment for those new to our community. How wonderful it was to once again be together on campus and to gather as an entire school, Grades 6-12, under one roof for our opening assembly, something we haven’t been able to do for the past year and a half. Students had an opportunity to meet Headmaster Seagram, Deputy Headmaster Faucher and later, the Junior School faculty, and personal advisors before heading off to a few classes.  Relaxing outside in our “quad” area provided a perfect place to sit and chat at picnic tables or enjoy a swing with a new friend on our campus swing sets at break and lunch.  The day ended on Menzies field where students and teachers played get-to-know-you games. It was amazing how quickly a sense of community was established. With temperatures hitting 25 degrees, a round of popsicles was the perfect treat to beat the heat and end a terrific first day. The early buses were filled, and day students were on their way home by 3:30 pm. From the sparkle in their eyes, I knew there were bright smiles behind their masks as they left campus.
