Summer has arrived!

We all did our best to Connect, Converse and Catch-up during the strangest of years. Thankfully we had social-media, other digital options and the good old-fashion phone to reach out to family, friends and acquaintances. For me, it was a pleasurable part of each week to correspond with former students and view a snapshot of their challenges, decisions, and accomplishments.

Now that summer is here, it’s time to take a step away from the screen, use the computer in your pocket a little less, and step outside or onto a pub patio.  If you are privileged to live where you can gather and meet, and you are invited – say yes! It’s time to interact in person. Zoom away from “Zoom” as fast as you can for the BBQ season.

I want to thank the small sample-size of former students that I featured this year. You represented all of your peers who are striving to live well in the frenetic and fascinating 21st Century.  I am blessed that I could cover a different Alum each week, for the rest of my life, and never run out of interesting stories.

Pilots, social-activists, artists, business-owners, builders, educators, machine operators, academics and parents were all covered this term.  The School is proud of you and the devotion you have brought to your families and professions.

I wish everyone a great summer and encourage you to connect, converse and catch-up with friends. One thing we can all do is remember that the pandemic hit some people harder than others. Keep local small businesses in mind when we open-up.  If you are fortunate enough to be a buyer, keep these people in mind as an option.  Many of our friends and classmates may need a boost to get off the ground at a key time, just as Jeff Bezos is focused on his own launch into orbit, we can help them locally.

Happy Summer!  KEEP IN TOUCH!
