We did it!

After six weeks of KES Distance Learning during the third wave of the global pandemic, we have successfully concluded the 2020-2021 School year.  While distance learning is challenging, the creative efforts and support of teachers created an environment where meaningful learning continued.  I commend those students who worked hard and contributed daily to their classes.  Without question, positive energy in a Zoom platform is contagious and appreciated.  Special thanks to parents as well for their patience and support from home during such a busy and uncertain time for everyone.  Our final Junior Assembly provided a retrospective video highlighting all the activities that we made possible during a year when everything seemed impossible.  From Highland Games to Hoopla to Quidditch, lots of great memories were made.  On the final afternoon of classes, it was terrific for all Grades 6, 7 and 8 students to gather in Zoom rooms with their teachers and classmates to share year-end reflections and summer farewells.  The Zoom breakout rooms allowed everyone to share in small-group conversations. It was exciting to see and hear everyone.  The thoughts of an on-campus reunion in September fills our hearts with joy and optimism.

Have a safe and fun-filled summer holiday!
