Celebrating a Year of Athletes of the Week
“Athletes of the Week” (AOW) are selected based on athletic performance and sportsmanship. Positive sporting behaviour is valued at KES and integral to our Athletic Philosophy and School Mission Statement emphasizing gentleness and learning and dignity and respect.
This year we were fortunate to recognize athletes over three terms for a total of 29 weeks. In the Fall term, we recognized 27 different athletes in Hockey, Soccer, Cross Country, Basketball and Volleyball (from 11 different varsity teams); in the Winter term, we recognized 41 different athletes in Volleyball, Hockey, Biathlon, Basketball, Curling, Wrestling and Skiing (from 11 different teams); in the Spring term, we recognized 29 different athletes in Snowboarding, Wrestling, Ultimate Frisbee, Track and Field, Table Tennis and Skiing (from 10 different varsity teams). There are a number of our teams that comprise both male and female athletes, across multiple age groups. Congratulations to all the worthy recipients.
