Coolest Birthday Surprise Ever

When Ms. Stephanie Cummings arrived to teach her last period Grade 11 English class, she had no idea what twin Korean students Taewoo and Hyeonwoo "Parker" Kim had in store for her. They took their lunch time to arrange and rehearse Happy Birthday in our Music Room, and they took a guitar and a djembe to class before Ms. Cummings arrived. A fellow student was tipped off and had his cell phone ready to catch the two as they launched into the birthday song which was then followed up with additional energetic playing. Ms. Cummings must certainly be proud that she has had such a positive impact on these brothers and their classmates. What better honour could possibly top a musical tribute, and how much more fun could Parker (guitar) and Taewoo (djembe) have playing it? This clip is organic and sincere, and musically liberating; it warms my heart, too. Happy birthday, indeed, Ms. Cummings! Click here to watch the video.
