Students Unlikely Win over Staff (just Joking)
The wet conditions didn’t put a damper on the annual Staff versus Students soccer game played earlier this week! Athletics Prefect, Téa Racozzi, led the way and made up a team of student participants with soccer players ranging from Grades 7-12. Teachers and Houseparents were up for the challenge, looking like a team in their KES jerseys, and they even added the professional touch of being piped onto the field by Mr. Pat LePoidevin.
In the first half, the Staff team was holding their own, running hard to the ball, and getting lots of chances up front. Exceptional goaltending was demonstrated by both teams’ keepers, Mr. Sandy Forsyth and Kun (Ken) Lee, neither letting much get past them. Unfortunately, the students outlasted the staff in the end, and the final score was 5-1 for the Students! The Staff team is motivated to improve; they are already planning some extra fall training sessions, and looking forward to a rematch in the near future!
