KES Rugby – Excellence You See Everyday
Playing for the King’s–Edgehill Rugby Club
When you play Men’s Rugby at KES, you
join a brotherhood. A vast majority of our players enter our
programme with little to no formal rugby training. By the time they
graduate, most of our players will have a strong foundation of
knowledge and skills that will allow them to contribute to a
university or club team.
Rugby has a proud tradition spanning two centuries at our school.
Our graduates treasure the memories and the strong friendships that
were formed from competing together on our First XV. Some of our
graduates have gone on to win university and club titles. Other
players have played for Nova Scotia at the Canada Games. A rare few
have been selected to play for U17 Canada. Once you
have played rugby for the First XV at King’s-Edgehill School, the sport will become
part of who you are.
Younger and less experienced players are given opportunities to
develop their talents on our Second XV or U16 sides. A handful of
these
players are promoted to the First XV once they have displayed the
maturity and consistency in practice and competition.
When you join our rugby club, you are making a commitment to all of
our members that you will:
• fulfill your classroom responsibilities;
• conduct yourselves in a professional manner in and around the
School;
• give your maximum effort in fitness training, practice and
competition;
• and commit yourself to winning as a team.
If you are ready to make that commitment, we strongly encourage you
to play rugby with us.
